Willie Mullins has landed the last two runnings of the Brown Advisory Novices’ Chase and will attempt to complete a hat-trick at the 2026 Cheltenham Festival.

His leading contender appears to be Final Demand, a horse who created a stir earlier in the season with two dominant victories that marked him out as a potential future Gold Cup candidate.

The Grade 1 contest has become a key stepping stone for staying chasers and Mullins will hope his latest prospect can follow the path of 2024 winner Fact To File.

There is strength in depth from the yard. One of Mullins’ other runners could emulate Lecky Watson, who caused a surprise when scoring 12 months ago.

The Brown Advisory is run over 3m1f on the Old Course at Cheltenham. Stamina and accurate jumping are required, with 20 fences to be cleared before the £112,540 first prize is secured.

Final Demand heads the market with the bookies despite a below par effort at the Dublin Racing Festival. Stablemate Kaid d’Authie sits next in the early betting after finishing ahead of the favourite at Leopardstown.

The Big Westerner is also prominent in the non-runner no bet lists following his victory in the Grade 2 Dawn Run, adding further intrigue to a race that often shapes the staying division for seasons to come.
