Constitution Hill has been super boosted to evens by bet365 to finish in the top three on his Flat debut at Southwell Racecourse on Friday evening.
The bookmaker is now live with a 1/1 Super Boost on the hurdling superstar to hit the frame in the 7:30pm contest, adding further intrigue to one of the most talked about outings of the season.
Constitution Hill cemented his reputation as one of the modern greats with victory in the 2022 Supreme Novices’ Hurdle before producing a dominant display in the 2023 Champion Hurdle at Cheltenham. Now, as speculation grows about a possible return to the Champion Hurdle this March, attention switches to his first appearance on the Flat.
He is currently priced at 13/8 to win at Southwell and 4/1 Non Runner No Bet for the Champion Hurdle, with interest building around both markets.
bet365’s Racing Pro Pat Cooney said: “There’s no doubt Constitution Hill continues to be the main talking point in the build up to the Cheltenham Festival.
“He has certainly divided plenty of opinions about his future, but I don’t think many of us had him running in a flat race on the all weather surface at Southwell on a Friday night as one of them.
“He is currently 4/1 Non Runner No Bet for the Champion Hurdle in March, and that price is proving popular, as will our 1/1 Super Boost about a top three finish in Friday’s race.
“I do think if he disappoints at Southwell he may well be retired, so I would love him to win there and head to Cheltenham with us all none the wiser about whether he will even get round, never mind win the Champion Hurdle.”
