Punters now examine Willie Mullins Cheltenham winners as closely as any piece of form, knowing his team is primed months in advance for this four-day meeting. From nurturing raw novice talent to carefully managing established stars, Mullins has shown an ability to peak his horses at the right time.
His roll of honour includes modern greats such as Hurricane Fly, Quevega and dual Gold Cup hero Al Boum Photo. Each has played a part in building a Festival legacy that few trainers in history can match.Willie Mullins remains the dominant force and the Willie Mullins Stable Tour has proved some useful insight at the Cheltenham Festival and heads into the 2026 meeting aiming to finish as leading trainer for the 13th time in his career.
The Closutton handler brought up a remarkable milestone in 2024 when his son Patrick guided Jasmin De Vaux to victory in the Champion Bumper, sealing Mullins’ 100th Festival success. He has since extended that record to 113 winners by the end of the 2025 meeting.
Mullins first tasted Cheltenham glory in 1995 when Tourist Attraction won the Supreme Novices’ Hurdle. He also enjoyed success as a jockey when partnering Wither Or Which to win the Champion Bumper in 1996.
Last season he matched his own record of ten winners at a single Festival and claimed the Leading Trainer Award for a 12th time. The question now is what 2026 has in store.
